Hello, my name is Bethann Scott. My journey into the doll making world began during my days as an antique store owner. I made cloth character dolls and felt rabbits to sell in my store and at local craft shows. After my store closed, I continued to sew and made my first rag doll in April 2008. The rag dolls I made were a delight but I had a yearning to move forward and create more realistic forms. My desire to learn different techniques and mediums led me on a quest to improve my doll making skills and to develop my own style. I enjoy working with both cloth and clay. Creating art dolls fills my days with imagination and wonder. I'm constantly pondering color, form, costuming and anticipating the presence each character will bring forth. My Character and Fantasy cloth art dolls have won ribbon awards at the Manteca Quilt and Doll Show in California in 2014 and 2016.
I sell my work in my shop thestitchfiddler on Etsy.com and am currently working on three Fantasy paper clay sculpts and plan to create cloth Fantasy art dolls in the near future.
