Michael Natoli

Biography

  •  Michael Natoli is a self taught artist who began his artdoll career in 2011. He won first prize in the Beginning Catorgory in Jack Johnston's Artdoll Contest in that same year. Mr Natoli's many experiences have contributed greatly to this venture. Beginning from his early years as a display coordinator restoring mannequins, a make-up artist and sculptor for a design firm, professional model, interior decorator, couturier, all the way to building and restoring houses.

"Building houses for nine years honed my organizational skills, but when the housing market went south I had to start looking for work again in my 50's! After several failed attempts at finding work, I prayed about starting my own business. Mark A. Dennis was a source of inspiration in pursuing a career in doll making. I have always enjoyed making dolls but never as an art form. this was a whole new realm for me and the response from my work was enough of an encouragemnt to let me know I could at least pay the morgage.

What ever the end result I want them to be more than little men and women. for me they must be larger than their live counterpart, an emphasis, an essence, like opera and always timeless and elegant

Michael's other interests include being a professional singer, swimming, and horses. He resides in Virginia along with his wife, Janet. They have 3 grown sons."
